We’re Heading to the Beach

Well, wet summer didn’t stop us from enjoying the goodness of this long break. My cousins and I will be going to the beach this Sunday. We don’t really know the weather forecast but we’re so confident that it will be a very nice day. We’re currently preparing our stuffs needed during that day especially the foods. So, hopefully it will be really that fine as we think about it!

Crazy Weather Failed Our Trip

The weather in here is really going crazy. Summer supposedly must be so dry but here we have a very wet intro for this summer of 2011. Last Saturday we were about to go swimming but then because of the rain which happened to start in the earliest of the morning, we canceled everything. Well, in the afternoon about 3 PM, the rain started getting out of the scene but it was too late to pack up.

Thankful for the Spontaneous Blessings

Everyone is seemingly rejoicing for the prayers that we’ve made were finally given an answer. Rainy days are in and drought’s out. Our water supple is obviously abundant compared with what happened last few months ago. Well, everyone is thankful for all the blessings that we have received during this recent days.

Drought Drops Dam

Another water source of the city dropped down. Buhisan Dam is one big water source wherein many spots around the city relied upon its huge water supplies. According to the news that I have heard recently, several places around Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-lapu City will be experiencing water shortage. Anyway, I just hope that there will be a rain somehow in the next few days or months. But I am a bit scared upon this phenomenon because it’s been a very long drought and some people says that might be, a sudden huge amount of rainfall will occur. Well I don’t think this is much relevant but upon imagining the outcome of the scare, it made me nervous.

Hottest Day of the Year Struck Metro Manila

Today Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAG-ASA) reported that the hottest temperature of this year struck Metro Manila. According to the report, a 37.3 degrees Celsius of temperature was measured and recorded by the PAG-ASA weather bureau at their headquarters located in Quezon City. So far, this is the latest official recorded data about the current condition of our country environmental health. This is the highest temperature of the year which surpassed the last one which was 36.8 degrees Celsius. According to source of this news PAG-ASA weather bureau advised all citizens to be prepared always because this might get worse in the next few months from now. It got all of this information by watching the ABS-CBN’s TV Patrol News which is aired daily.

Warm Weather Affects the Farming Industry

Due to the successive days of the dryness of our weather, most of us here are craving for the rain to come. It is very hard for us to stay even inside our houses because everywhere we go we feel the warm of the surrounding cause by the natural phenomena that the Philippines in currently experiencing right now. I hope in the coming weeks there would be an abundant of rain because not only humans are affected by this but also the plants of many farmer in our agricultural sectors.

New Breeds for the Farmers

Today farmers are so much affected by the current El Niño. The farmers are currently worrying due to this drought because many rice fields have been destroyed just by this month. Good thing to know that there is a new development in the agricultural technology. The International Rice Research Institute formulated a solution for the possible rice shortage in the country. They had these three rice breeds that are suitable in a specific type of environment. One of these can be the answer for the problem that we have right-now. According to the news this breed can be planted in a dry soil such as what the farmers have right-now. I was amazed with that and I hope that there will be no more problems with in terms of rice supply.
